The Idea of Love

by: Natasha Karenina Wijaya

What can we say about love
It's not something you find so easily
There are moments where i regret
Throwing away the closest thing I had to love

But love had destroyed me
Love had given me tears and pain
That weren't worth the smiles
Love wasn't supposed to hurt me

When will I finally find love
One where it nurtures instead of tortures
One where I would finally be happy

Maybe I had just been let down,
by the wonderful idea of love

Feelings

by: Alfreno Kautsar Ramadhan

Feelings are things that is felt with our hearts
Yet, we are not sure whether it is our hearts
Or our minds that felt that feelings

How can our heart feel crushed?
Feel sad?
Feel lonely?
When we all know that our heart is only a piece of muscle

Why do we need to feel,
What we are supposed to feel.
Why can't the world just be simple
And dull

Feelings are meant to be felt
Because feelings are the thing that made us feel alive,
Feelings are the things that made us feel happy
Feelings are like a color pencil
To our dull piece of paper

The Chances Never Taken

by: Evania Batara

Sometimes it hurts a little
Sometimes it gives a smile
Sometimes it hits right on the chest
Sometimes it makes everything happier
Sometimes it closes the eyes to see

The pain has found its comfort
It stays longer than before
The heart wishes something else
It commands the whole body
But there's this spot of what ifs

What if we gave each other a smile?
What if we passed by and said hi?
What if we locked eyes and tried?
What if there's a possibility for us?

The questions that wanders around
The answers that never came
The path we could've take but didn't
The happiness we could've felt
The possibilities were too big too ignore

I was here don't you see?
I was here when others walked away
Did you not know?
Were you lost in her eyes,
That didn't bother to see mine?

I know now I shouldn't have stayed when you left

Where the Sidewalk Ends - Poem of the Week

by: Shel Silverstein

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know

The place where the sidewalk ends.

Solar Systems

by: Karisa A. Hermawan

stars fall down from my hair
nebulas hide in my eyes
planets orbit in my head
the infinite darkness of space
pour vigorously through my veins
the sun drips from my fingertips
galaxies rest on my palms
and i know that i
am important
and complex
and majestic
because i am
a universe.
